    • Junior School Programme

      • The school follows a well resourced, broad-based curriculum. The Programmes of Study for all classes include English, Maltese, Mathematics, Religious Education, Science, History, Geography & Environmental Studies (GES), Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Art, Music, PE and Drama. In J5 pupils are also introduced to 3 International languages: Italian, French and German.

The weighting of the various areas of study is planned according to the pupils' level of development, age and concentration span. Interesting and relevant educational excursions also enhance the programme.

We provide all the books, stationery, computers and educational apparatus required.

The programme is part of a dynamic and on- going process, continuously planned, monitored and evaluated, aiming at effectiveness and validity.

      • •  During English and Maltese Language pupils are encouraged to develop skills in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking so that they can express themselves well.
      • •  The aim of Mathematics is to provide pupils with appropriate number-based concepts and skills so that they can use these tools in their everyday lives.
      • •  The school's aim in Religious Education is to help explore what it means to have faith and to promote values.
      • •  Science aims to stimulate curiosity, enquiry and understanding of the natural and manmade world.
      • •  During History pupils study a wide variety of Maltese historical periods, events and themes, encouraging them to develop a sense of chronology and empathy.
      • •  In GES (Geography and Environmental Studies) children learn about and make sense of their immediate surroundings as well as develop an understanding of other places and environments.
      • •  During PSHE (Personal, Social & Health Education) pupils are encouraged to learn more about themselves and how they relate to others.
      • •  Information and Communication Technology helps children to develop skills which will help serve their needs in all areas of study. They are given opportunities to handle text, images, numbers, graphs, instructions and sound.
      • •  Art, Music, Physical Education and Drama are all taught by specialist teachers. Through these Areas of Study children experience the enjoyment of Music, explore a wide range of artistic styles and participate in several sport activities including athletics, football, swimming, gymnastics, basketball and volleyball. The creative and fantastic world of Drama is also experienced by our Junior School pupils.
